
In 2013 Sackville published Orkney.Īmy Sackville’s The Still Point was in the running for our inaugural Readers’ First Book Award in 2010.

It is set in a single hot summer’s day, following one individual’s search through her own family. Her first novel, The Still Point (2010), is praised by many as an exceptional debut. She spent two years in publishing before focusing on her own career in fiction writing, completing an MA in Creative and Life Writing at Goldsmiths and writing a number of short stories included in various anthologies. These excellent illustrations explore the natural force of the sea.After studying English and Theatre Studies at Leeds University, Amy Sackville went on to further study at Exeter College Oxford an MPhil in English, specialising in Modernism. Growing up by the sea, coastal imagery has always inspired her creativity.

Hannah won the commission to illustrate The Sea Swallow in a nationwide competition just weeks after finishing her course. Hannah studied Fine Art at University and went on to study ‘Authorial Illustration’ as a postgraduate. The Sea Swallow is his first book for younger readers.
